Dance World Academy

ALEAH BAILEY

When I was younger, dance was just a hobby. I failed to understand its significance. As I matured, dance became way more than just a craft. Dance class became an escape. It was the only place I could go and not worry about upcoming tests, SAT scores, drama, or my appearance. None of that mattered as I did time steps or Cincinnatis. Dance class became my outlet. It was a place where I could clear my mind and relax. Through dance, I’ve gained confidence, discipline, and social skills. Dance class has instilled many lessons in me that can be applied to various aspects of life. For instance, when learning a dance, whether I pick up the steps right away or not, the class still goes on. This has taught me that life doesn’t wait for anyone. Instead of giving up on the steps, I went home, practiced them, and returned the next week with those steps mastered. This has proven to myself that I have the ability to succeed at whatever I put my mind to. So, although life doesn’t wait for anyone, I am capable of catching up through persistence and hard work.
